Islam uphold marriage in high regards. The prophet Mohammed(saas) has said, "Marriage is my tradition so who ever keeps away there from is not from amongst me".
Nikha, Marriage is fundamental to being Muslim. Marriage in Islam considered to be a religious duty,
it acts as the moral safeguard against all kinds of immoralities.
Marriage establishes and regulates moral standarad for civilised societies and it prevents mankind from becoming a slave to his/ her desires.
Thus, establishing the distinction between humans and animals. Unlike other religions Islam does not advocate celibacy and Islam does not hail being celibath as being pious.
In contrast, in Islam being married is the stepping stone for being pious as the institution of marriage provides an outlet for lawful intimacy between men and women,
and it also establishes the institution of family thereby it acts as the fundamental unit for civil society.
In Islam, marriage is the only halal way {legitimate way} to indulge in intimacy between a man and a woman. Thus Marriage for a Muslim is religious duty and
is a social necessity, through which, families are established and
as we know family is the fundamental unit of our society.
